This typeface was created to support the oldest surviving music venue in Czechia (formerly in Czechoslovakia).
Popular Sedmička (´Seven´) has become home for music genres such as punk, hip hop, hard-core, ska, reggae or rockabilly. Klub 007 Strahov, which is celebrating its 56th anniversary this year, draws in both connoisseurs and oddballs with distinctive taste.
In the first place, the typeface was ment for typesetting monthly programmes, it is proportionally high and can be also used as a headline typeface. It includes a lot of glyphs that elevate the typesetting.
Some of them are discretionary ligatures of international registration codes, abbreviations of names of days, a set of genre and activists pictograms, or an extended set of arrows.

The typeface is a part of new identity created by Karel Haloun, Petr Kudláček and Jan Arndt. It can be seen in the logotype that works with fragments of period programme leaflets by means of a simple grid.
Stylistic Sets

„Gigs that were impossible to be held elsewhere, were normal at Sedmička. It was one of the freest Prague venues, especially thanks to visitors interested in progressive music,“ says music journalist Jiří Černý.
